Happy 2023-2024 School Year! This is just a reminder our school theme for this year is "Be Present to Win." Attendance Matters! Here is a review of our attendance guidelines...(full attendance policy can be found on our online Student Handbook under the page “Attendance Policy and Rules”) Attendance: Medical notes are the ONLY excused absence that will NOT count towards truancy, extra-curricular activities, and/or credit denial/grade promotion. Notes written by parents of students who are ill, still count towards their total number of absences. Excessive absenteeism is anything that goes over 14 days of either excused and/or unexcused absences. Once a student reaches a total of 10 unexcused and/or excused absences they will receive a letter from administration outlining the consequences of exceeding the acceptable limit. At a total of 15 absences either excused or unexcused students will be denied access to extra/co-curricular activities, in addition to possible credit denial/possible grade retention. In addition students who are deemed excessively tardy with 20 lateness or more to school will receive the same consequences as described for excessively absent. Attendance Extra/Co-Curricular Activities: All students who wish to participate in an extra/co-curricular event/activity MUST be in attendance the day of or preceding the event. Students are not permitted to be dismissed early the day of the prom. The only expectation would be for a medical note. Students who have been suspended, have been determined to be excessively absent (as described above), and/or excessively tardy will not be permitted to participate in the following activities: Any dance - Including Homecoming and Prom. Field Trips – Including the Senior Class Trip All sports and/or clubs (all extra-curricular activities) Students who attend extra and co-curricular events must be in academic good standing and have no suspensions for one calendar month prior to the extra/co-curricular event. Truancy Charges: Truancy charges will be filed with the municipal court at 10 unexcused absences for all students ages 16 and under according to state law. Students will need to complete credit completion for unexcused days exceeding 14 days in order to regain credit for courses they are passing. Please provide doctor’s notes for any medical issues (within 10 days following the absence). Lateness: Students who are late to school must report to the main office to get a pass. Students will receive an administrative detention for every 5th lateness they receive throughout the school year. Any student who is late 6 times to a class period will be written up for an administrative detention. Truancy Charges will be filed with the municipal court at 20 times late to school, for all students ages 16 and under. In addition, all students who exceed 20 times late to school will be reviewed by the attendance committee, students may be denied credit for excessive time out of class, even with a passing grade--students MUST report to school on time.

The Pennsville Education Foundation will be holding a Meet-n-Greet tonight from 6:30-8:30PM @ the Shipyard. Class of 2024 Parents/Guardians and Students - there are 2 links below in regards to Senior Class Trip. Please be sure to watch the entire video (Link 1) that was provided by our travel agency. It is a little over 11 minutes but will provide you with all of the information you need to register and pay. The second link is for the trip registration portal. All registration, permissions, and payments will be handled through the online portal. Trip cost is $1585 for a Quad Occupancy. ALL sign-ups will be at the Quad Occupancy option. If you would like to change to Triple, Double, or Single there will be an added cost and all travelers that plan to room together in a non-Quad room must see Mr. Thomas to make the change through the travel agency. No room changes will be made prior to the closing of registration. Congratulations to Keira Ammon. In May she was named the New Jersey Champion in Microsoft Excel and today competed in the Microsoft Office Specialist US National Championship held in Orlando, FL and finished as one of the Top 3 in the country. We are so proud!

Tonight's Graduation Ceremony will begin at 6pm. Gates will open at 5pm. Handicap entrances will be located at the walk-through gates on either side of the stadium, which are both near wheel chair ramps into the stadium. All other attendees should use the main entrance to the stadium. See Attached Map. Programs will be available at the main entrance. The Class of 2026 will be selling water at the main entrance. Wm. Penn Ave will be closed promptly at 6pm. You will still have access to the Middle School Parking lot after the ceremony starts, but you will not have access to the roadway in front of the stadium down to Pittsfield St. The weather looks to be improving later this afternoon. Our full intention is to have this ceremony in the stadium. Any delays to the start of the ceremony, due to weather, will be posted on our social media accounts and communicated to families involved with the Senior Class. See everyone tonight.

I am sure that it is as hard for you as it is for me to realize that another school year has come and gone! It is my sincere hope that you are pleased with the progress your child has made this year. I know that our teachers and staff, working collaboratively with you, have put forth a great deal of time and effort this school year to provide your child with the best education possible. Graduation Week Events:

Good morning, The forecast for tonight has remained unchanged and with the potential of even more rain, we are postponing tonight's 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony and Dance and moving it to tomorrow June 13th. The ceremony is still scheduled for 6PM at Lou D'Angelo Stadium with the dance in the PVMS Middle School Cafeteria to follow. The forecast for tomorrow looks beautiful, 78 degrees and sunny, so we are hoping that it remains as such! Thank you for your patience and if you have any questions, please let us know!
